A hair color glaze helps seal the hair color into the hair's cuticle and also helps extend the life of your hair color. This is why your hair is so shiny and soft when you leave the salon. When your color starts to dull or fade, you can schedule a color glaze with your stylist to "refresh" your color in between your color appointments. The glaze gives your hair color a boost by depositing a small amount of clear color. It also helps to improve your hair's texture and shine. Go ahead! Book your Color Appointment and ask for a Color Glaze! Shiny, healthy hair is always in! Melissa :)

Grey Hair – Believe it or not, grey hair is not only for mature women or men. It has been making an appearance on the heads of many young adults lately. Women in their twenties are donning a shade that most 50 year olds wouldn't dare attempt. Now it’s up to you to decide whether or not this trend is here to stay.
Bombshell Red – This by far could be the sexiest color of the year, with it quickly becoming the most popular shade by women all over the country. However, if you decide to take your hair to this level, be sure to understand that it is a very high maintenance color as red is one of the fastest fading hair colors. Butter Blonde - This color will look great with any skin tone! Ombre Hair - Ombre hair is becoming one of the hottest trends and one that is relatively easy to maintain, leading to its extreme popularity. Mahogany - With the perfect mix of red and brown, this color creates a unique blend that will suit just about anyone! Ultra-Dark Brown - To achieve a gorgeous multi-dimensional look, add subtle auburn highlights to an ultra-dark shade of brown. Purple Grey - Not too sure you want to take the step mentioned above to go completely grey at a young age? This is the retro-punk variation of the trendy grey hair (mentioned above). Two-toned Brown and Blonde- This has always been a sexy combination and will remain, quite popular among the younger generation of women. Jet Black- Embrace your dark side with this mysterious shade. It adds a sleekness and shine to hair (when cared for properly) are is instant hit. Dip Dye- This trend is made to express a loud statement in trends! Choose from a rainbow of colors and kiss the tips of the hair to express your creative side! Strawberry Blonde - This is a red-tinted variation of the classic blonde! Ash Blonde - Ash blonde is subtly grey in hue, giving it that ashy color. Chestnut Brown - Definitely the most popular brown hair color this season. It’s a sultry color, with little maintenance required. Beige Blonde – Much less bleaching is required for this shade than other blonde colors, making it very easy to accomplish. Platinum Blonde- Its extreme blonde shade is best suited for a confident woman who’s not afraid to take risks and is able to keep up with the regular maintenance to keep this color always looking fresh and trendy. Melissa :) Not that we want to start thinking that summer is coming to an end, but we should be excited for the upcoming Fall 2012 Hair trends.

Oxidized metals in the water bind to the protein in the hair shaft and deposit their color. The metal that produces the green tint is copper, which is most commonly found in algicides, though it naturally occurs in some water. The bleach or hydrocloride that is added to a pool may be responsible for oxidizing the metal, but it's not the cause of the color.
What to do if you hair does turn green: If your hair turns green, you can remove the discoloration by using a shampoo that removes the metal. To some extent, you can prevent copper from binding to the hair by sealing the hair cuticle with a conditioner before swimming. Rinsing your hair immediately after leaving the pool will help protect it, too. Melissa :) |
